AI disclosure
We use AI tools to support the work. A person makes every judgement, and AI never writes for you.

How we use AI
We use AI tools to support our work on yours, for example to check language and consistency across a long document. They save time on checks. They do not make decisions.
A specialist with a doctorate reads your work, makes every judgement in it and signs the report.
What AI never does
- Write any text that goes out under your name: not a paragraph, an abstract, a cover letter or a response to reviewers.
- Make the strategic call, such as which journal, which objection to answer first, or whether the contribution holds. A person makes it and signs it.
- Learn from your work. No service we use may train, fine-tune or evaluate a model on it.
- Score or rank you. No grade, rating or readiness score in a report comes from a model.
Your report names the tools
Your report lists the AI tools used on your work and what each one did, so you can declare it accurately to a journal, funder or university. You are welcome to quote this page and that list word for word.
If a disclosure form asks something they do not answer, email us and we will answer in writing, so you have something to attach.
How your data is protected
We remove your name and contact details from text before it goes to an AI service. Our privacy policy explains who processes your data and where.
If we break this
Tell us. If an AI tool was used on your work without being named in your report, or for anything on the list above, the engagement is refunded, and you do not have to argue for it.

Write to contact@xp-consulting.org. A person answers within one working day, and if this page does not cover your situation we would rather add it than send you a paragraph number.
