For the “messy middle” of your PhD

You have the data and the chapters. We help you find the through-line.

When the argument is slipping and the timeline feels endless, you don’t need more theory — you need structure, accountability and rigorous logic checks, every week, until you defend.

For graduate schools and doctoral colleges

Cohort completion, not individual rescue

Departments with a completion-rate problem usually have a structure problem. We run the same cadence across a cohort and invoice centrally.

The messy middle

Sound familiar?

None of these are character failures. All four are structural — which means all four are fixable with cadence and a map.

  • The through-line slips

Chapters and findings that don’t yet tell one coherent story. We rebuild the argument’s spine — and show you, chapter by chapter, where it currently breaks.

  • Time keeps disappearing

Without external structure, weeks blur into each other. Timelines and weekly check-ins turn vague intentions into dated deliverables you can actually miss — or hit.

  • You’re working in isolation

Advisors are busy and feedback is slow. You get a rigorous logic review from someone in your corner every week — between supervisions, not instead of them.

  • The defence feels far off

We work backwards from your defence date, auditing readiness month by month, so you walk in prepared rather than hopeful. Zero unknowns is the standard.

The process

Four moves, repeated until you defend

Month one is diagnostic. Every month after that is cadence — and the Through-Line Map is re-scored so progress is visible rather than felt.

  1. Map the gaps

We read what exists and build your Through-Line Map: chapter by chapter, where the spine holds, bends or breaks.

  2. Build the timeline

Backwards from your defence date to next Monday. Named deliverables, realistic hours, buffer for the things that always go wrong.

  3. Weekly accountability

Twenty-five minutes: what moved, what stalled, what you’re avoiding, and the one thing due next week. Written up, every time.

  4. Defence readiness

A structured pre-defence audit and “Reviewer #2” simulation, so the committee’s hardest question isn’t the first time you’ve heard it.

The Through-Line Map scores every chapter G, A or R against four dimensions, with the letter shown on every cell so the map never depends on colour alone.

All three tiers include the Through-Line Map, the working timeline and project management. What changes is the depth of review and how often you speak to a human.

For scholars writing in a second language

Specialised support for international scholars

We provide cultural translation that preserves your authentic voice while navigating the norms of English-dominant academia. That means proactively mitigating bias in framing, surfacing the unspoken rhetorical patterns Western examiners and journals reward, and making sure your scholarship is judged on its merit — not filtered through a linguistic disadvantage.

Our guarantee

The Marathon Pause

If your first month’s Through-Line Map and timeline don’t fit your project, we revise them once, free. If the revision still misses, half of month one is refunded and you can stop, with no further months charged and no minimum term to serve.

Straight answers

Frequently asked questions

Is this ghostwriting? Will it breach my university’s regulations?

No. We never write your chapters, generate your findings, or draft text that appears under your name. We review argument logic, structure, coherence and readiness, and we return questions, ranked objections and revision plans. Every deliverable is written to be shareable with your supervisor — that is the test we apply. If your institution requires disclosure of third-party support, we provide a one-page statement of exactly what we did and did not do.

Does this replace my supervisor?

No, and we will not position ourselves against them. Your supervisor owns the scholarly judgement and the sign-off. We provide the structure, cadence and stress-testing that most supervision arrangements have no capacity to deliver: weekly check-ins, a working timeline, and rigorous logic review between meetings.

What is the minimum commitment, and can I cancel?

Lite and Full have a six-month minimum. Premium has a four-month minimum, because it is built for the final run-in to a defence. After your minimum, cancel any time before your next renewal date and you will not be charged again. No exit fees, no retention phone call.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, at any monthly renewal, up or down. Most candidates start on Lite or Full and move to Premium for the last months before submission and defence. Switching does not restart your minimum commitment.

What actually happens in a weekly check-in?

Twenty-five focused minutes: what moved, what stalled, what you are avoiding and why, then next week’s single defined deliverable with a date. You leave with a written note of the commitments, and it is the first thing we open next week. It is not therapy and it is not a lecture. If you are in genuine distress, we will say so and point you to real support rather than coaching you through it.

I’m on a stipend. Is there help with the cost?

Yes. The Global South Scholar Fund applies a subsidy across all three tiers for eligible applicants. Many candidates also fund this from research training support grants — tick the invoice box at checkout and we will issue a scope-of-work letter your department can process.

What if it isn’t a fit?

The Fit Guarantee applies. If your first month’s Through-Line Map and timeline do not fit your project, we revise them once, free. If the revision still misses, half of month one is refunded and you can stop, with no further months charged and no minimum term to serve. And if your strategy brief shows you do not need us, we will say that instead of selling you six months.
