For faculty whose research is competing with everything else on the calendar

You didn’t get into this to manage a pipeline. So let us run it.

The tenure clock doesn’t care that you’re teaching three sections and sitting on four committees. We become your outsourced research office, running the publication pipeline and grant strategy, so your time goes back to the lab, the students, and the science only you can do.

No ghostwriting, ever · Human-led, PhD-signed

For deans, department heads and research offices

Retention is cheaper than replacement

A faculty member who misses their review costs a department a search. We run the same engagement across a cohort, invoiced centrally, with a scope document written for procurement.

The gap

You already know the exact date your dossier is due.

And somewhere in the back of your mind is the gap — the papers you meant to finish, the grant you keep almost submitting, the line on your CV that still says in preparation. It isn’t that you can’t do the work. It’s that the work keeps getting interrupted by all the other work.

That gap isn’t a verdict on your ability. It’s a project-management problem dressed up as an existential one — and project-management problems are exactly what a dedicated research office is built to absorb.

We start there. With the milestone you’re most afraid you won’t reach in time.

In every tier

What the office does, whichever cadence you choose

  • Manuscript development

Structure, argument and reviewer-proofing on your papers in flight.

  • Publication pipeline management

A live board: in preparation → drafting → under review → accepted.

  • Grant strategy & Aims refinement

Cycle timing, mechanism fit and a Specific Aims page that survives a panel.

  • A strategist who knows your file

Not a ticket queue — someone accountable for your trajectory.

How the engagement works

Three steps. No black box.

Every deliverable is developmental. The science, the ideas and the authorship stay yours — always.

  1. You tell us the milestone you’re afraid you’ll miss

That single line becomes the spine of your whole strategy — every cadence, deadline and grant decision is reverse-engineered from it.

  2. We build and run the office

Drafting cadence, submission tracking, grant timing — the work moves whether or not your week cooperates.

  3. You show up to your review with a record, not a scramble

A CV that grew on purpose and a dossier that reads like a plan that worked.

Why most faculty choose Director: it is the cadence that matches a real tenure timeline — enough output velocity to close the gap, with a named lead who owns it.

Frequently asked questions

Objections worth taking seriously

Isn’t this just paying someone to do my research?

No. The science, the ideas and the authorship are yours — they have to be. We own the machinery around them: scheduling, pipeline tracking, grant-cycle timing, and the follow-through that stops a paper sitting at eighty per cent for eight months. You stay the scientist. We make sure the scientist’s output actually ships.

What if I’m too far behind for this to matter?

Then start with the free Strategy Brief. It is written, it arrives within 3 working days, and it tells you honestly what is achievable before your review date — and if the answer is “not enough to justify this”, we will say so.

Why is this a long engagement rather than month-to-month?

Because publication cycles are annual. A three-month engagement cannot move a paper from in preparation to accepted; it can only tidy the desk. You can still move between tiers at any monthly renewal.

Can my department or institution fund this?

Frequently, yes — via start-up funds, professional development allocations or research-office budgets. We provide invoices, POs and a scope document written for a dean. Choose an institutional route in the intake and the paperwork comes with your brief.

How is AI used, and what happens to my files?

Diagnostic scanning only, and every tool used on your work is named in the report you receive. Every strategic decision is human-led and PhD-signed. Uploads are stored outside the web root, never web-served, encrypted in transit, and never used to train a public model.

Do you already have a Sprint or MRI booked with us?

Then check before you buy twice: Director and Partner already include grant cycles and manuscript development. Contact us with your existing reference and we will credit overlapping work.
