Live workshop
60-minute live faculty workshop plus Q&A, recorded for staff who cannot attend. Built on the maps from your four audited courses, so the examples are yours.
For educators and teaching centres
Your students aren’t lazy — the course design hasn’t caught up to how their attention works. We map the exact weeks where cognitive load, feedback debt and lost autonomy collide, and hand you the mechanics that close each one, with build steps for your LMS.

For departments and CTLs
The Department and CTL scope maps up to four courses together and returns a cross-course consistency report your programme committee can act on. Invoiced, PO-friendly, no card required.

The real problem
When attention drops in week six, it is rarely about motivation. It is cognitive overload, a missing feedback loop, or a lack of autonomy baked into the course architecture. All three are visible in a syllabus and an LMS layout — before a single student disappears.
“They stopped doing the reading.”
Three graded demands landed in the same 48 hours.
“They don’t participate.”
No feedback signal has reached them in nineteen days.
“They only care about grades.”
The week offers no choice of topic, path or format.
“Attendance collapsed after the midterm.”
Nothing in weeks 8–10 restarts the loop.
Signature diagnostic
This is the artefact you receive, built from your syllabus, your LMS layout and one recorded lecture. Below is a worked sample — select any week to read what the map found there.
Select a week to read what the map found there.
Your map is built by a human from your own materials, and every recommendation arrives with LMS-specific build steps rather than a diagnosis on its own.
The deliverable
Six artefacts in 7–10 days. All of them are yours to reuse in a teaching portfolio, a promotion file or a departmental review.
Full syllabus and LMS layout review
We read the syllabus the way a stretched second-year student reads it: what is due, when, and what happens if they miss it. Then we walk your LMS shell and mark every place the answer is not findable in two clicks.
Analysis of one sample lecture, up to 90 minutes
Zoom, Panopto or a phone on a tripod. We time-stamp attention architecture: minutes to first interaction, length of uninterrupted transmission, where the cognitive switch points fall. You get a marked-up timeline, not a grade.
Design-Risk Map, week by week
Four dimensions (cognitive load, feedback loop, autonomy, engagement signal) graded G/A/R for every teaching week, with a ranked list of which weeks to fix first.
Five plug-and-play mechanics, chosen against your red cells
Not points and badges. Staged assessment, choice architecture, visible progress, feedback that arrives while it can still change behaviour — each with the outcome it protects, the setup time, and the failure mode to watch for.
LMS-specific implementation notes
Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace or Google Classroom: click-path instructions an instructional designer can execute without you in the room. On another platform, tell us and we write the build sheet for it.
Debrief and dated action list
A live call, or a recorded walkthrough on the Async tier, where we argue about the recommendations and drop the ones that do not fit your cohort or your accreditation constraints. You leave with three changes you can ship before next term.
What it is not. It is not a teaching evaluation, not a ranking, and not a prediction. The Design-Risk Map is a heuristic diagnostic grounded in course-audit experience and peer-reviewed engagement research — not predictive AI, and not a forecast of your grades or your retention. We do not process student personal data as part of this service.
Pricing
Same diagnostic rigour at every tier. The difference is how much of it is live, and how many courses it covers.

For departments and teaching centres
Up to four courses, mapped together. Delivery mode changes the price; the diagnostic does not.
60-minute live faculty workshop plus Q&A, recorded for staff who cannot attend. Built on the maps from your four audited courses, so the examples are yours.
Our recommendation
45–60 minutes pre-recorded for faculty to watch on their own schedule, followed by a 30-minute live Q&A. Your team receives the complete four-course audit walkthrough asynchronously, so only the Q&A requires a fixed slot on your department calendar.
Self-paced modules, a written Q&A document answering your faculty’s submitted questions, and one week of asynchronous email follow-up.
For departments and teaching centres
We invoice institutions directly and supply the paperwork your finance office asks for. No card required.
Individual faculty: this is a standard use of professional development funds — ask us for a scope-of-work paragraph you can paste into the request. Teaching centres and departments: we issue formal invoices and accept purchase orders.
How the audit runs
Syllabus, LMS export or read-only guest access, and one lecture recording. No student names, no grades, no roster — we never need them.
Tools surface the friction points; a PhD educator reads every one of them against your discipline, your cohort and your accreditation constraints. Every tool we used is named in the report.
Day seven to ten: the map, the mechanics and the LMS build steps land in your inbox, followed by the debrief. You leave with three changes you can ship before next term — and the artefacts to evidence them.
Submit the form and you get a secure upload link within one business day. The clock starts when we confirm your materials are complete — not when you pay.
Before work starts, if the audit is not the right fit for your course, your discipline or your students, you get a full refund or a credited switch — your choice, no arbitration. And if the honest answer after reading your syllabus is “your design is fine, spend the money elsewhere”, we say that and refund you in full.
After delivery, if the work misses the brief we agreed, tell us within 14 days and we revise it once, free. If the revision still misses it, half the fee comes back as a refund or a credit, your choice.
Non-negotiables
Every strategic decision is reviewed and signed by a PhD expert — never solely by an automated system.
We disclose every tool used in your diagnostic. No hidden automation.
Your intellectual property remains yours. We never use your work to train a model.
We nurture your voice. We never substitute your ideas with ours — and we will decline work that requests us to.
Next step
We reply within one business day — including “your design is fine, save your budget,” when that is the honest answer.
